Bright Star Tony Award Nominated Musical by Steven Martin & Edie Brickell Bright Star is a heartwarming musical set in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina in the 1940s & 50s. The story follows Alice Murphy, a successful literary editor in her 40s, as she grapples with the secrets of her past and the possibility of a new love. When a young soldier named Billy returns from World War II and becomes a talented writer, Alice takes him under her wing, unaware of the connection they share.
