Join our First Day Hike tradition across the country. What could be healthier than starting the New Year with a beautiful walk nature with others?

Hike approximately 5-6 milles depending on weather and trail conditions that day. Wrap-up and celebrate at a local spot (TBD) in Summit, NJ (near the train station). Coming from NY Penn by train? We can arrange a ride for you to the start, by reserving ahead of time. Mid-town direct train leaves NY Penn Station at 10:11 am to Summit, NJ.and arrives at 11:08 am.

Important: If you are registering for multiple guests please complete the forms with their names. If your plans change you can easily cancel your registration as well... much thanks.

Meet: 11:30 am at Trailside Science Museum parking lot.

Finish:: approx. 2:30 pm to same location.

Distance: 5-6 miles depending on trail conditions.

Tranportation: NJ Midtown Direct train to Summit leaves NY Penn at 10:11 am. Carpool offered from the station if arranged in advance. Free parking at Trailside Science Museum as well.

Preparation: HIking shoes, hiking poles suggested (have a few to lend), layered clothing. Pack a lunch/snack and water.

Bathrooms: available at the start and midway along the trail.

Difficulty: Moderate, with some hilly and rocky trails. We will stay together! 2-2.5 MPH - hiking is slower than just walking and we want to enjoy the sites.

Holiday Celebration: Location in Summit, NJ (TBD). Join us to celebrate on your own tab.
