Join the Center for Applied AI for an in-person conversation with founder Mark Lawrence, CEO of SpotHero, and VC Investor, Don Stalter, Partner, Global Founders Capital, to share their stories and discuss the impact AI is having on companies (including SpotHero) right now. We will take a deeper look at how aspiring entrepreneurs can identify opportunities in an increasingly saturated market and adapt to an AI-centric future.
Mark Lawrence is the Co-Founder and CEO of SpotHero, the leading parking reservation marketplace in North America. Millions of drivers use SpotHero’s mobile apps and website to find, book and access off-street parking in over 8,000 locations across 300 cities in the U.S. and Canada. With $120 million in funding to date, SpotHero powers leading operator partners to data-driven decisions with SpotHero’s AI-powered dynamic pricing platform, SpotHero IQ. As CEO, Mark drives the overall vision and strategic direction for SpotHero, recognized by TIME magazine as one of 50 Genius Companies inventing the future. Before founding SpotHero, Mark was a Financial Analyst at Bank of America. Mark graduated with a B.S. in Finance from Bradley University.
Don Stalter is passionate about working with entrepreneurs who build durable, generational businesses. His portfolio features over a dozen multi-billion dollar disruptors, including first checks in companies like Deel, where he led the seed, as well as Headway, Canva, Cultureamp, Brex, Next Insurance, and Checkr. Previously, he co-founded CityDeal, which was exited to Groupon in the early days, then built and ran Groupon's international offices with 500+ employees spanning Europe and Asia. He subsequently led BD at Airbnb globally and launched multiple offices both organically and through M&A. He constructed and ran the original high end listing and long term stays initiatives, which are multi-billion dollar revenue generating product categories today - LTS now accounts for 20%+ of Airbnb's revenue. Simultaneously, Don advised a variety of high growth startups such as Handy, which was an early Airbnb partner and made a marked impact on global listing quality. He has a track record of succeeding in highly competitive markets
